Magpies are the great collectors of jewellery and valuables, discarded debris and lost findings. Within my installation of mythical magpie sculptures, these are some of the items you may find within their nest. The magpie can be an artist, a hoarder, a nuisance. This installation examines the act of collecting and how artists can gather material without a primary purpose. Purpose is instead created from the items; they appear limitless in their capabilities.
