Theme

Within my project “Skylight Café”, the main audience in mind is people with disabilities such as partial or complete blindness. The focus is on providing people with disabilities a modern space that can be enjoyed and easily accessible.

Light is an important aspect of this design and is incorporated by double ceilings and clear materials. Texture is also very important as it is the main way of navigating around the building for those with blindness. Textures will exist as a tool to hear and feel the surrounding area. This will aid the guests to recognise where they are, and it will ensure that the space they are in is also aesthetic.

People with disabilities deserve to have a safe but also modern space they can find comfort in.
