Theme

Homelessness has been a countrywide problem in the UK and the number of homeless people around the country keeps increasing even with the existing institutions set in place by the government to help eradicate homelessness.
The current housing institution places focus mainly on providing accommodation relief, leaving the other societal factors that contribute to homelessness to go almost unaddressed. New/different approaches need to be considered in order help solve the problem.

My project explores and proposes a mixed use development which focuses on providing accommodation for homeless individuals/families in the London borough of Newham alongside other facilities that would provide support needed to integrate back into the community through the reuse and regeneration of  existing/derelict buildings.
