Theme

Much of Daniel Holden’s photographic work has been in theatre, on set and performance photography, creating images that embody the experience of the production, and aiming to communicate the context of the piece, and the work of its creators. This includes productions both on and off the West End.

His most recent project ‘Offstage’ consists of a selection of carefully constructed tableaus with repeating visual elements, mimicking a stage space in remote outdoor locations. Presented in video form, these photographs are combined with audio from the location, creating a melancholy atmosphere and sense of isolation, in addition to evoking memories of an industry struggling to recover from a year of absence.
