The theme of my project, “The Disconnect Between Mind and Body”, explores dissociative experiences that I have had. My paintings are often presented alongside pieces of written work that I made to try and describe what dissociation, auditory hallucinations, and vivid dreams are like. This series of paintings was prompted following the difficulty I’ve had in trying to authentically describe my experiences to other people.
