Extended Diploma in Art & Design - Year 1 - Rochester

Theme

The work featured is exclusively from the second half of my first year, where I could focus more on fashion and sculpture- the 2 areas I am most interested in. All of my work is inspired by the things around me, my last projects being completed under lockdown at home.

I particularly focus on sustainability and environmental issues in my final major project. Being limited on resources and inspirations during lockdown, I had to think more unconventionally by using what was available to me at the time. My final major piece is heavily inspired by blitz fashion, along with other inspirations from the 80s-90s and modern sustainable fashion designers. Researching these topics enabled me to create a fully up-cycled but eccentric and loud design, in the hope of raising further awareness of environmental issues.
