“Celebrate the Anniversary of a Musician”
For my project, I am responding to this statement, and have done this by creating a design for a collection of singles(3), to commemorate 20 years of an artist I have chosen, BoA. These singles are from different decades, 2000, 2010 and 2020, they are: ID; Peace B, Hurricane Venus & Better.
The singles have a gate book album design, meaning a total of six sides to design for each 3, the front, back, inside 2 sides, an inside sleeve, as well as the design on the record. Each single has different style that BoA has portrayed over her years; the styles I have chosen correspond to the styles previously used in the singles. The front displays the artist’s name and the single, and the back, the information about the single. The front, back and inside covers are all a continuous design, wrapping round the album. With the inside sleeve, one side is an illustration of BoA, the other an illustration of a place used in the MV for that single. The record design uses the front cover design, however the layout is different due to its shape.
