I am a director, writer focusing on art directing exploring themes of mental health and self-discovery using striking visual imagery to tell original stories. I am my own content creator working with social media platforms with a strong and supportive following for my creative projects. Alongside this, I am a DIY maker of EPs for Spotify and work as a model for the fashion industry, as well as featuring in several professional music videos.
The work ‘Ghost of Me’ is a dramatised poetic film montage expressing the subjective experience of dissociation and feeling out of touch with reality. The narration is spoken by a male in french and the work uses subtitles to tell a story in the third person. I have my own style of creative writing and I write poetry. My style of filmmaking explores the aspects of creating opposition in a metaphorical visual way in terms of my storytelling for sensitive subjects such as mental health, womanhood, and nostalgia through my films. The visual style of work explores notions of innocence through contrasting imagery so that it reflects how we live and still feel heavily connected to our inner child, whilst also adapting to the dark subject matter we come across. I am interested in all forms of media; I believe that having self-expression and finding ways to visually communicate to an audience about a story they can relate to is very powerful as an art form. I want to continue creating art through films that can tell stories that they may have not heard or felt before. The film was inspired by my own experiences of isolation before and during the pandemic and about the mental health issues triggered by the global pandemic and sudden life changes.
My career goal is in the art direction for contemporary online fashion publications such as Dazed and ID. My modelling background means I am familiar with staging photoshoots with these fashion magazines and I am seeking opportunities for a junior post and/or internships. I also want to explore creating and helping creators developing social media content – building their own audiences for more exposure. With my skill of creating connections with large magazines and modelling agencies, I would like to use my talent of filmmaking within that industry and also to make more experimental short films.
