Emily’s Final Major Project, Bloom, focused on the link between Architecture and Mental Health, a topic she is very passionate about. Emily designed an ecotherapy centre in collaboration with the charity Thrive. Ecotherapy is a therapy technique that involves spending time in nature and taking part in activities, such as gardening. The centre is for adults with anxiety and creates a safe haven for them to learn new skills and connect with like-minded people. Each person using the space has their own raised planter that they tend to themselves and watch bloom throughout the summer months. The centre is designed to be sustainable and inspired by the beautiful, rural landscape that surrounds it.
