My project encapsulates the very essence of Korean culture, blending the significant tropes of mythological tales as well as the contextual events of the Joseon era. The illustrative animation follows tragical lovers, igniting feelings of nostalgia within a story that is also recognisable in the West. The romantic tale also reflects human relationships-of hardship and love despite, which serves as a moral teaching for audiences. The animation faces very real struggles of the Joseon era, stripping away the romanticisation we see in contemporary representations.
