My graduate collection, LAX to LAMEZIA, links together influences of my family from Italy throughout the 70s and 80s and research into David Hockney’s swimming pool artwork mainly created in LA. The style of my great-grandad has inspired traditional tailoring aspects of my design developments. I have created a narrative of a working man travelling from the office to Italy on holiday, carrying his clothes in a suitcase creating creases and ripples in the clothing, also relating to water distortion from the Hockney paintings and with references to 90’s airport photos of celebrities.
