An Architectural Performance of Time and Memory
This proposal acts as a response to the local, global issues and
future trends of Fish Island / context. I propose a performance
and exhibition space to provide a place of communal
reminiscence and acknowledgement of the site’s history. In the
time researching the story of Fish Island, there is insisting
antagonist; ‘loss’. The gentrification of the site has made the area
quite expensive to live in, which has drawn vital artists and
influences out. Thus, a loss of studio space, a loss of collaboration
and a loss of expression has infected the site. Open arms of
creativity is at war with the cross arms and ignorance of
repeated apartment facades.
