Liberty Adams-Crichton

My final major projects looks into redefining the term “to be a lady”, women are constantly getting told what to do, what not to do, how to speak, act and dress.  Being told to be more lady like, but being a lady should just be you being yourself.  There is no rule book.  What this project highlighted is that these social norms, or so called etiquette women are expected to live by in order to comply with societies definition of a lady, are in fact a means of control and damaging to women mental health.  With a collection of portraits and anonymous stories from women all over the world, my project #tobealady is displayed in a book.  To empower women of all ages.
