I was inspired by the life cycle of nature through my final nature project, and the different forms, colours and textures these natural elements take from the start of their life to the end. I created textile representations of these forms, focusing on leaves and flowers with great contrasts representing their living forms and withered. I created a dress for my final outcome with the aim to represent this change from head to toe through the use of textile replications, textures and colour ways to show this. My final piece is a costume for a character of nature such as a fairy or pixie, with the bodice constructed with bodice blocking, using voile and calico. The skirt is free flowing from the bodice, made from calico, voile, mesh and polyester.
