Theme

‘Someone That Looks Like Me’

Semiotics to the unknowing, simply put, is the study of signs & symbols and how they can create meaning.

Therefore, ‘Semiotics of the Self’ is my study into self-portraiture that uses semiotic theories to look at ways I can manipulate myself; for myself, the viewer and passer-by – while being conscious of the internalised effects of the male gaze.

Subject matter, photography, manipulations, prints, writing, recordings and observations by me or ‘Someone That Looks Like Me’.
