Madelyn Alvis

My practice is centered around the organic form. Using the ancient technique of coiling to create biomorphic sculptures to represent delusions of self. I have my own struggles with body dysmorphia, the work replicates the exaggerated view of self. The folds and curves that I sculpted intend to celebrate what we may want hide. Through my abstract forms I choose to celebrate the imperfections.
