Merris Dickinson

Extended Diploma in Art & Design - Year 1 - Canterbury

Theme

I am Merris Dickinson, I’m a student at UCA taking the extended diploma course. During the last year, I’ve been heavily inspired by fashion and textiles and fine art as it allows me to express myself in different media. Despite covid19 restrictions, I am proud of my progress and success, I’ve learnt so much on this course, and I’ve developed so many skills. The theme I like to work on is identity. I really enjoyed exploring this theme through my artwork. This is shown throughout my work as an artist. In my 2nd year, I hope to expand my skill in fashion and textiles.

In this art piece the stencils I chose was Acrylic paint, spray paint, collage, acetate and photography. The reason I choose this subject areas was because I like to show my own personal life and things that show who I am.
