Theme

For my Final Major Project I explored the theme ‘Elegance In Nature’ through hand embroidered dandelions. For my outcome I created a bridal inspired garment, which has detailed hand embroidery and beading on the bodice, accompanied by a billowing skirt. My main inspirations for this project were the designers Hermione de Paula and Suzanne Harward, as well as the textile artist Jo Butcher, who creates detailed hand embroideries of elements in nature such as dandelions. I shot my final outcome in two locations (the beach and a field full of flowers) to enhance the elegance of my garment and to bring it into nature.
