Primarily focusing on bridging the gap of positive representation of people of colour, Priyanka Pattni is a portrait photographer closely working with both analogue and digital photography. Pattni uses portraiture to convey the reclamation of space that minority groups take up. Pattni’s interest in the empowerment of BIPOC began in their second year of university, as they began to grow closer to their own cultural identity. Moving from Mombasa to the UK at an early age, Pattni found that positive and accurate representation of people of colour was not present in the British media; and so, Pattni has begun to collaborate with BIPOC to change this.
