A short animation looking into the different languages my mother has encountered. It attempts to explore how the sounds of these languages may look and feel like by rendering them into shapes and movements.
Languages surpass borders; constantly blending and merging to make new sounds. Equally, there is beauty in the tongue’s struggle to adjust to the movements of a new language because of how accustomed it is to the dance of its mother tongue. The old tongue dutifully carries memories and heritage and the newer tongues, the struggle, sacrifices and acceptance of the new.
