After witnessing a wildfire caused by the careless use of a barbecue at a local nature reserve in May 2020, I wondered what had the person been thinking at the time? What possessed them to light a barbecue in a hot dry landscape? I began to think about the nature of thoughts, what is a thought and where does it come from? Does it have a life of its own? Is it an entity of its own? I explored these questions and ideas and their relationship to the landscape that resulted from the fire, motivated by the devastation and bleakness it brought.
Working with these themes I produced a short film entitled “The life of a Thought”.
