‘We have an overconsumption problem and it’s ‘driving the climate crisis’ (Frost, 2020)
Overconsumption cannot be changed overnight, I wanted to create a more ethically and environmentally conscious alternative in the mean time. For my final major project I decided to delve into the global footwear market, identifying key problems such as poor working conditions and lack of consideration regarding the end of lifecycle.
As fear surrounding the climate crisis grows, consumers will continue to search for more environmentally and ethically conscious alternatives to everyday products. After months of extensive consumer and competitor analysis I was able to identify a gap in the global sneaker market, creating a biodegradable, fashion forward, ethically produced and plant-based sneaker brand called La Maison de Margot.
