Theme

Wonderful Water – I wanted to recreate the feeling of freedom that I get from being by the water.  I love the sea, the  seaside and gardens,  the taste of salt in the air and the big skies, this collection features lots of fossil shapes from my trip to Dorset and a few days fossil hunting.

I gather my imagery from photography and primary live sketches and then develop my ideas into large scale paintings and fine line drawings.

For this collection I then photographed my work and finished it digitally to create the textile pattern designs.

This is a departure for me as I normally like to hand finish my fabrics but the challenge of Covid has made me seek alternative ways to work.

Interior fabrics are my favourite projects, however, I felt that this collection would work well on silk art scarves.

I have a real interest in sustainable interior fabrics and like to reuse fabrics and furniture where I can – this is the area in which I hope to focus my future energies.
