My work is based off of the idea of dissecting and transforming an image to the point where it no longer resembles itself. this idea was inspired by my interest in digital editing as I was curious to fin out how far I could take the image apart until it is considered as too far. This intrigued me into exploring meaning and how this relationship can impact the work to establish an attitude in seeing a new approach of processing information to make forms.

The entirety of my work is based around processing images over and over, using different techniques and materials I had not yet used beforehand. These processes allowed me to explore a wide range of interesting ideas, especially since the work never came to an end due to the infinite possibilities.

Once I felt satisfied with experimenting with digital editing, I wanted to bring back the physicality to my work which encouraged me to explore the idea of installations. After choosing an image to start from,  I merged it with previous work in different configurations until I’d come to a good starting point.

I started to explore expanding my paintings from the digital images, I then transformed the piece by hanging elements from the ceiling and projecting images back onto the piece. In joining the digital and physical aspects of my work, I have created an outcome that feels like a cumulation of the work process.

This is my favourite outcome form all of my experimentations as I feel that the mixed media work well together and I find that this piece represents the combination of all of my work processes all combined together. Due to the bright colours and movement of the swirls, it draws the eye towards it , intriguing the viewers curiosity.

This is an experiment I did while playing around with different compositions and including the projector. I find that by having one painting close up and the expanded painting in the background create a new and interesting way of looking at the work. It forces the viewer to look at the canvas painting and projection first and then as the eye wonders around, it will come across the expanded painting in the back with bring the piece together.

Expanded painting with all the canvases hanging on the wall as well as some extra pieces that I have worked from separately and then added to the expanded painting.

Colourful outline painting that was an inspiration for all of my digital processes, I wanted to fins way of distancing myself form the original image that I chose and felt that creating a line art piece was a good way to start dissecting and transforming the image to find ways to incorporate my digital editing processes.

Digital edit from my experimentation from my chosen image of a lion tile that I digitally edited and fused together with other image edits. I really like all the different colour variations that are in this piece as I feel it creates an unusual feel. I also find the slight detail from allows your imagination to run letting the viewer decide what they see for themselves.

Digital edited image of a stitched piece fused with an edited painting, this image helped inspire me to create my enlarge painting piece as I really liked the movement with all of the different textures that are visible.
