Over the past year, life as we knew it has dramatically taken a turn for the worse. COVID-19 has since become a global pandemic leaving us uncertain about how life will look ahead…a year on. People lost their freedom and sanity. Schools and businesses were forced to close leaving people stuck in their homes. Many people either lost their jobs or businesses. Throughout this experience, we have been in and out of Lockdown. We have come out of Lockdown thinking it was safe to do so only then having to go back into Lockdown as cases have risen. Now we have hopefully experienced our last Lockdown assuming all goes well and people behave themselves this time around.
Lockdown forced the whole world to pause and breathe for a second allowing the spark of conversations on a range of topics, nationally and internationally, causing people to actually listen and take notice for once. This resulted in the change of many things such as policies and bills which could not have been done without Lockdown.
The title of the project is Lockdown: Activism Now. I have produced a series of publications based around activism that can be used in educational institutions to teach and encourage activism. I have also presented this alongside an animation that displays the stages in which we have come in and out of lockdown as well as looking at what life looked like before the pandemic and a sneak peek at what it could look like after the pandemic.
