While Toni usually works on portraits and performance photography, she has taken this time in isolation as an opportunity to turn the camera toward herself, in an attempt to work through her experiences with PTSD.
Using a variety of analogue formats, Toni has used the photograph in a meditative way to express her varying feelings about her past and present. Through a series of self-portraits, still-life and handwritten texts she has created an ongoing photographic diary documenting the moments and memories that have and continue to be the most impactful to her journey overcoming and dealing with PTSD.
She hopes this work will open up the conversation about PTSD and how photography can be used as a tool to help those who suffer with it.
